HOW DOES THE RIVER GRADING SYSTEM WORK?
GRADE 1: EASY
Fast moving water with very small waves and without obstructions. Passages are obvious and easily navigated. Risk to swimmers is slight; self-rescue is easy.
GRADE 2: NOVICE
Simple rapids with regular small waves, easy eddies, and gradual bends. Wide, clear channels make navigating easy without scouting. Little manoeuvering is required, and rocks and obstructions are easily avoidable. Rapids that are at the upper end of this difficulty range are designated Class II+.
GRADE 3: INTERMEDIATE
Rapids with strong currents, large waves, powerful hydraulics, and obstructions that may be difficult to avoid. Controlled manoeuvres are often required to navigate, although passages are simple and have relatively little objective danger. Scouting is advisable for inexperienced parties. Rapids at the lower and upper end of this difficulty range are designated Grade 3- and Grade 3+ respectively.
Grade 4: ADVANCED
Difficult yet predictable rapids with large, irregular waves, boiling eddies, powerful hydraulics, steeper gradient, and some unavoidable obstructions. Passages are often difficult to recognize, and require precise boat control and skillful manoeuvering to navigate. Scouting is likely necessary for safe passage, and self-rescue is difficult. Rapids at the lower and upper end of this difficulty range are designated Grade 4- and Grade 4+ respectively.
GRADE 5: EXPERT
Long, powerful, obstructed, and unpredictable rapids that expose paddlers to significant danger. Rapids are steep with large, unavoidable waves and major hydraulics, congested chutes, and many obstructions. Complex, demanding routes require precise boat control, "must make" moves, and a high level of mental and physical fitness. What eddies exist may be small, turbulent, and difficult to reach. Scouting is necessary but may be difficult. Swims are dangerous, and rescue is often difficult even for experts. Proper equipment, extensive experience, and practiced rescue skills are essential.
GRADE 6: EXTREME
All previous difficulties increased to the absolute limit of practicability, suitable for teams of specially prepared experts only. Runs of this classification are rarely attempted and often exemplify the extremes of difficulty, unpredictability and danger. The consequences of errors are very severe and rescue may be impossible.

If you choose to continue with the trip booked, you will be responsible for the increase in cost. Any such increase in cost payable by you must be paid within 14-days of notification to you of the increase, but in no event less than 10-days prior to the departure date. DO I NEED A TRAVEL INSURANCE?
Your safety is as important to us as your holiday enjoyment. To this end compulsory travel insurance is a must for all our trips. All clients must be covered for personal accident, medical expenses, cancellation, curtailment and repatriation. In addition, as our trips are run in some very remote areas, this should also include helicopter Med-Evac. All clients must supply us with a copy of their insurance details prior to the trip departure. Failure to do so could mean Yaute Aventure refusing to allow the client to participate on the trip due to safety issues. As well as presenting us with a copy it is also highly recommended you take a copy of your policy on your trip with you.
INSURANCE & SAFETY
Yaute Aventure have full public liability insurance. It is the nature of adventurous activities that there will always be some degree of risk. Our insurance does not cover you for inherent risks or client negligence. Whilst not mandatory you may wish to arrange your own personal injury insurance or alternatively contact us for help in arranging cover. We advise you to apply for a travel insurance that covers rafting or any other outdoor activities. You can register online https://sport.lycea.fr/ For your own safety it is imperative that you abide by the decisions of our Instructors/Guide. We reserve the right to make changes to planned routes and venues as a result of adverse or impending conditions.

ABOUT Samoëns
Based at the heart of the Grand Massif mountain region and nestled in the stunning valley of the Giffre river, Samoens and the area provide spectacular scenery including mountain lakes, rivers, national parks, waterfalls, botanical gardens and an abundance of wildlife. Just minutes along the valley at Sixt Fer a Cheval are over a dozen enormous waterfalls falling some 500m. It has a great deal to offer families, groups and individuals of all ages seeking adventure or alternatively, just sheer relaxation.
about morillon
Morillon became famous with the Olympic downhill gold medalist Antoine Dénériaz. The village is a great base for a summer holiday with its Blue lake being the centre of all activities: swimming, horse and pony rides for all ages, adventure parks as well as rafting down the river. The village itself is steeped in history and is a real working village unspoilt by tourism. It has its very own weekly market on Wednesdays, as well as numerous bars and restaurants serving a variety of tasty local cuisine. There is a quaint church, supermarket, various sports shops with equipment hire, tourist information centre, cash point, medical centre, chemist, activity operators, football pitch, adventure park, swimming lake an ice rink and everything else you would expect from a well equipped mountain resort. Just 5 minutes drive away is Samoens village and all it has to offer.

Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval is a municipality in the Haute-Savoie department within the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in southeastern France. It is located at the end of the Giffre Valley. Although the Cirque du Fer à Cheval has made Sixt famous, other attractions including the Cascade du Rouget waterfall, named "Queen of the Alps" and a nature reserve cover most of the district's geographical area. Its architectural heritage includes the priory and church stemming from the former Sixt Abbey, founded by Ponce de Faucigny.

This is an authentic Savoyard village, hamlets typical compound of cottages and farmhouses you discover the charm of yesteryear. The welcome is warm. The town was founded in Samoëns May 13, 1865. Near Giffre, was the hamlet of hoods (= village in Savoie), with a sense of hood, hence the name "Les Lottis" for people: those who made baskets or who used to work.
